Conejo Recreation & Park District
GENERAL MANAGER BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Jim Friedl Chuck Huffer, Chair
George M. Lange, Vice Chair
Susan L. Holt, Director
Joe Gibson, Director
Ed Jones, Director
GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS
Tex Ward
DATE: July 7, 2016
TO: Board of Directors
FROM: Jim Friedl, General Manag
SUBJECT: Brush Clearance Easeme t for t. Patrick's Episcopal Church
RECOMMENDATION
Authorize General Manager to enter into a brush clearance easement agreement with St. Patrick's
Episcopal Church for access on to District property at Old Meadows Park to perform annual brush
clearance.
DISCUSSION
In 1997, the City of Thousand Oaks Planning Commission approved construction of a parish hall/office
building at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, located east of EI Monte Drive and north of Janss Road. A
condition of development requires St. Patrick's to provide a minimum 100 -foot fire control zone to
protect structures abutting the park. Although the abatement has been carried out over the years,
there is no formal easement in place granting access on to District property to perform the work. The
accompanying paperwork addresses this omission and serves as a reminder to the applicant of the
brush clearance requirement.
STRATEGIC PLAN COMPLIANCE
Meets 2016 Strategic Plan Element 4.1 Develop, maintain and enhance relationships with City of
Thousand Oaks, and Conejo Valley Unified School District staff.
Respectfully submitted by:
To Hare
Administrator, Parks & Planning
Prepared by:
Bill Palermo
Park Operations Analyst
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES
403 West Hillcrest Drive • Thousand Oaks, CA 91360-4223
(805) 495-6471 • FAX: (805) 497-3199 - Email: parks@crpd.org - Website: www.crpd.org
