<br />Conversion Project
<br />RECOMMENDATION
<br />1. Appropriate $20,000 from Turf Conversion Accounts.
<br />2. Award bid to FS Contractors, Inc. for $281,500 (Base Bid $190,000 plus Add
<br />Alternate #1A Concrete Path $26,500 and #213 Turf Conversion Area $65,000) plus
<br />contingency in the amount of $27,040, totaling $310,000 for removal of existing play
<br />equipment, concrete paving, timber walls and steps, installation of new play and
<br />fitness equipment, modification to existing irrigation system and installation of new
<br />irrigation, planting, turf renovation and mulch groundcover installation.
<br />BACKGROUND
<br />A Notice Inviting Bids was advertised in the Ventura County Star, Construction
<br />Bidboard, Inc., Builder's Notebook, Ventura County Contractor's Association, Inc., and
<br />posted on the District website. Seventeen interested bidders attended the mandatory
<br />pre-bid meeting held at the site on Thursday, January 7th. Ten bids were received and
<br />were opened at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26th
