CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />November 6, 2014 <br />7:30 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Gibson called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and Jones led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Huffer, Jones, Lange <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Hare, Lewanda, Lindsey and <br />Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Chumash Indian Museum <br />Sean Mahan, Preparator, Chumash Indian Museum, provided highlights of the past year <br />at the Museum, which included providing many museum tours - sometimes two to three <br />per day - to schoolchildren; fees charged for these tours are the museum's main source of <br />income. The staff is small in number and extra assistance is provided by volunteers, <br />including eagle scouts, girl scouts and interns. In addition to tours, income is derived from <br />the onsite and online gift shop and filming fees. Mahan extended an invitation for all to <br />attend the Chumash Museum's annual open house, to be held this year on December <br />13th. <br />Mahan answered Board member's questions and was thanked for his informative <br />presentation. <br />Conejo Community Center — 860 Warwick Program <br />Lori Olbrich, Recreation Supervisor, Conejo Community Center and Outdoor Unit (CCC), <br />began her presentation by introducing the new CCC Recreation Coordinator, Paul <br />McCarter. She then provided highlights of the 850 Warwick Program. 30 — 35 children (1gt <br />grade through 5th grade) are tutored Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, the children <br />
