May 22, 2014 <br />Page 5 <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Lindsey reminded everyone of the Memorial Day Concert in the Park this <br />Monday at 5:00 pm. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Lewanda absent. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl reported Conejo Valley Days occurred without incident, but there was <br />more field damage than in the past. Staff is working to get the fields <br />repaired so as to be available for a CVU Tournament this weekend. CRPD <br />note cards are available for Board members' use. In light of tonight's <br />adoption of his amended contract, Friedl expressed pride in the District and <br />gratitude to the Board. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Jones reported he enjoyed attending several of the District -wide Music <br />Festivals. <br />F. Follow -Up Reports on Meetings/Conferences Attended <br />Lange reported on his attendance at the CARPD Conference in Lake Tahoe; <br />the best presentation was by Karen Lindsey on "Over -50 Programming." <br />The MRCA just approved a lease agreement with the Army Corps of <br />Engineers for the Sepulveda Dam Basin Recreation Area for kayaking. <br />Lange and Jones both enjoyed participating as judges at CVUSD's "We the <br />People" program held at CSUCI. <br />Huffer attended CARPD and enjoyed some very good sessions there; <br />overall he found the conference very useful. Three weeks ago he attended <br />one of the second round of the City of Thousand Oaks' Visioning meetings. <br />Gibson reported the CARPD conference had the largest attendance in many <br />years. <br />13. REQUEST FOR STATUS REPORTS AND ITEMS FOR SUBSEQUENT AGENDA <br />Gibson asked about the status of the Voice Over Internet Protocol. Friedl said it is <br />still being investigated. <br />
