CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />July 18, 2024 <br />600 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />M I N U T E S <br />Lange called the meeting to order at 6:00pm and Reynders led the flag salut(I <br />Directors Present: Buss, Cusworth, Huffer, Lange and Nickles <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: Friedl, General Manager; Callis, Recreation and Community Services <br />Director; Mooney, Parks and Planning Director; Smith, Management <br />Services Director; and Reynders, Executive Assistant <br />Grayson Wolpert Scholarship — Therapeutics Unit <br />Devon Herbert, Recreation Supervisor, Therapeutics Unit, introduced Skyler Wolpert, <br />who spoke about the Grayson Wolpert Scholarship, which is an ongoing legacy honoring <br />Grayson, Skyler's sister, who passed away 15 years ago. The scholarship is given to <br />graduating high school seniors or current college students who, like Grayson, have been <br />active and dedicated volunteers in CRPD Therapeutic Recreation programs. Herbert <br />presented three $1,000 scholarship to Max Peters, Jessica Nyborg and Matthew <br />Vaswani. Board members congratulated the scholarship recipients and thanked them for <br />their community involvement <br />Ride On — Therapeutic Horsemanship <br />Sara Jones, CEO, Ride On, expressed gratitude for Ride O's 24 years of partnership <br />with the District. She provided information on the various programs and activities offered <br />at the Ranch Potrero Community Equestrian Center (RPCEC), as well as the therapeutic <br />horsemanship programs offered by Ride On at Walnut Grove Equestrian Park. She <br />invited Board members to celebrate Ride On's 30th anniversary this September 13th at <br />their Chatsworth location.
