DISCUSSION The Classification & Compensation study adoption and implementation agenda item was before the CPRD Board on April 18, 2024. The Board (unanimously (4-0 Cusworth absent)) approved a variety of actions in order to implement the plan except for job title changes related to the job titles of the "Administrators." The Board did not make a decision on the narrow question of whether to change the job titles of the Administrators to Directors. Included in the packet on April 18th were the comparable agency job titles (Exhibit A attached). Staff supports the consultant's recommendation to change the job title of Administrator to Director and acknowledges there could be confusion between elected "Directors" and staff "Directors". Thus, staff will make a deliberate effort to refer to elected Directors as "Directors" and "Board Members" and refer to staff by their full proposed titles (ie. "Recreation & Community Services Director", "Administrative Services Director", and "Parks and Planning Director"). Given the common use of the staff job title "Director" (and the uncommon title of "Administrator") in cities and special districts comparable in size and scope to CRPD, staff supports the consultant's recommendation.
