J. Non -Discrimination in Reduction in Force: Layoffs and demotions which result from <br />a reduction in force shall be made without consideration being given to an <br />employee's race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, citizenship, or physical <br />handicap. <br />K. Continuation of Employee Assistance Plan Benefits: Employees who are laid off <br />and who held regular status at the time of layoff shall be kept on the EAP for a <br />period of 60 days beyond their layoff date. <br />ARTICLE 41: PAYMENT FOR VACATION <br />Employees who have used forty (40) hours of accrued vacation hours in the preceding <br />twelve-month period may elect to receive pay in lieu of up to forty (40) hours of vacation <br />accrual at a rate equal to the hourly equivalent of hislher salary plus shift differential, <br />providing the employee has a minimum of eighty (80) hours of accrued vacation time <br />remaining after payment is made. A request for payment under this provision may not be <br />made more than once in any twelve-month period. <br />ARTICLE 42 - VACATION ACCRUALS <br />B. It is the mutual responsibility of the employee and his/her supervisor to assure that <br />no employee shall exceed said maximum accrual. There shall be nn further <br />unless <br />approval for accrual in excess of the emnrlayee's maximum, has been given by the <br />Division Administrator and the General Manager. <br />ARTICLE 43 - DRUG AND ALCOHOL ABUSE POLICY <br />It is the intention of this policy to eliminate substance abuse and its effects in the work <br />place. While Conejo Recreation and Park District has no intention of intruding into the <br />private lives of its employees, involvement with drugs and alcohol off the job can take its <br />25 <br />
