Lange, Vice Chair <br />Nellie Cusworth, Director <br />Doug Nickles, Director <br />Marissa Buss, Director <br />GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS <br />Tex Ward <br />EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATION <br />Authorize purchase of HvAC equipment and installation services from Temp- ec Corp. in the, <br />amount of $68,092. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Chumash Museum's existing HVAC system is approaching 30 years old and needs <br />replacement and upgrade to meet current standards. The proposed upgrades will include <br />replacements of the system's main components, roof -located units, controls, electrical and control <br />connections, and all required components for a complete system. This will provide an effective <br />and functioning system while increasing efficiencies for the use of the museum and its visitors. <br />In accordance with the District's purchasing policy, staff considers the purchase of the HVAC <br />equipment and installation services a General Services Maintenance Work, and items over <br />$60,000 require Board approval. In accordance with the District's purchasing policy, staff utilized <br />a proposal approach where experience, warranties, servicing obligations, and product <br />performance would be evaluated in addition to price of the product and services. <br />Staff considers the cost of the product and services from Temp -Tec Corp. bleating and Air <br />Conditioning to be fair and reasonable. Temp -Tec has worked with the District on numerous <br />occasions for nearly 20 years, including past repairs at the museum. They have also provided <br />services at a variety of District facilities, most notably, Thousand Oaks, Dos Vientos, and Borchard <br />Community Centers.
