Recreation Division Report <br /> <br />Duerr reported that last weekend the Recreation Van visited Rancho Conejo Playfields and <br />Wendy Park. The van will visit parks one Saturday each month; the marketing department gets <br />the word out to surrounding neighborhoods ahead of the van’s visit. The next scheduled stops <br />are on March 11th at Paige Lane Neighborhood Park and Northwood Park. The Goebel Senior <br />Center Commission is accepting applications for five open seats. Interviews will be held on <br />Mach 2nd; Director Lange will be sitting in on the interviews as the CRPD Board liaison. Last <br />weekend there were 73 participants in the Therapeutic Unit’s Valentine’s Day Dance. McCrea <br />Ranch hosted 40 people at a Valentine’s Tea and Tour. Super Bowl parties were held at the <br />Goebel Adult Community Center and at the Therapeutics Unit. Currently, staff from Conejo <br />Community Center are working on “Science in the Park” talks with various elementary schools <br />including Glenwood, Banyan and Wildwood. <br /> <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br /> <br /> No report. <br /> <br />D. General Manager’s Report <br /> <br /> Friedl thanked Smith and her staff for their hard work on the audit. He reminded the Board <br />of the check presentation, by Julia Brownley, next Wednesday, February 22nd at the <br />Municipal Service Center. At the March 16th Board meeting, the Board will continue <br />reviewing and updating the Strategic Plan. The meeting may start a bit earlier than usual. <br />Friedl stated there is a need for an executive closed session this evening with no report <br />expected. <br /> <br />E. Directors Reports and Follow-up Reports on Meetings/Conferences Attended <br /> <br />Lange thanked Cusworth for her help in facilitating a donation, from Dennis Gillette to the Conejo <br />Valley Historical Society. Lange attended a Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority <br />(MRCA) Board meeting and the Ventura County Special Districts Association (VCSDA) Awards <br />Dinner Meeting. He congratulated Huffer on being honored as “Director of the Year” by the <br />VCSDA. Cusworth met with Conejo Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) Trustee, Lisa <br />Powell, earlier this evening. Nickles and Huffer attended the VCSDA Dinner meeting, a Conejo <br />Open Space and Conservation Agency (COSCA) meeting, and a Refunds, Deposits and Rental <br />Fees Committee Meeting. Huffer thanked Board and Staff for the VCSDA nomination. Huffer <br />met with CVUSD Trustee, Lauren Gill. Next week he will meet with Mayor McNamee. <br /> <br />12.
