Lange, Vice Chair Doug Nickles, Director Nellie Cusworth, Director Marissa Buss, Director GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS Tex Ward Titans Cricket Club for Use and Authorize General Manager to enter into an agreement with Thousand Oaks Titans Cricket Club (TO Titans). DISCUSSION Interest in the sport of cricket has grown in the region. The TO Titans is a member of the Southern California Cricket Association, a non-profit organization formed in 1935 to serve the areas ranging from San Diego to Santa Barbara and inland to Riverside. The TO Titans was formed in 2017 and has held use permits with the District since 2021. Furthermore, the TO Titans desires to work with the District to continue to promote the sport of cricket, with participation locally and regionally. Additionally, the TO Titans desires to assist the District to construct and maintain synthetic cricket pitch improvements at Pepper Tree Playfield. Highlights of the agreement include: TO Titans will construct and maintain synthetic turf cricket pitch improvements (approximately 10' x 80') in an open public park facility, which will be available to the public when TO Titans use is not permitted. ® TO Titans will assist with, coordinate, and maintain, under CRPD's direction and approval, the synthetic turf cricket pitch improvements at Pepper Tree Playfield. Any improvements to the Pepper Tree Playfield shall be the sole property of CRPD. TO Titans will utilize Pepper Tree Playfield for the sport of cricket during scheduled use via an approved permit, subject to CRPD's field allocation policies and practices as they may be amended from time to time. ® The District will coordinate with the TO Titans so that they may host annual contests, competitions, sponsored activities, or fundraisers attended by patrons from regional clubs at Pepper Tree Playfield.
