Recreation & Community Services <br />Recreation Division Highlights Page 1 of 5 Revised 10.2022 <br /> Recreation Division Highlights <br />Thursday, October 13, 2022 Thousand Oaks Teen Center <br /> Building Renovations <br />After roughly seven months of construction and renovations at the Thousand Oaks Teen Center, there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. And what a bright light it is! Inside the building will have new flooring, bathrooms, and a kitchen. Out back, there will be a new deluxe multi-use court, a stage, a deck for outdoor games, a BBQ, and a skate park. Massive shade sails will keep it cool during the day, and numerous <br />intelligent lights will brighten it up at night. The building will be opening up soon. The Thousand Oaks <br />Teen Center continues to be a model of excellence state-wide. <br /> <br />Borchard Community Center <br />Finger Skate Fun <br />This session, Borchard Community Center is offering a brand-new afterschool enrichment program at Walnut Elementary School called “Finger Skate Fun.” Each week the kids have experienced the fun of miniature skateboarding! They learn how to do tricks, build ramps, customize their board, and master the art of finger boarding.
