ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Cusworth, Holt, Huffer, Lange and Nickles <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis, Hare and Smith, and <br />Executive Assistant Reynders <br />Trails Education Days Letter Writing Contest Winners — Elayne Haggan <br />Brennan Sush — Lang Ranch Elementary School <br />Zyra Ahmed — Sycamore Canyon Elementary School <br />Adi Rathore — Sycamore Canyon Elementary School <br />Terra Hong — Westlake Hills Elementary School <br />Dylan Moss — Weathersfield Elementary School <br />Haggan acknowledged volunteer Melanie Ashen and thanked her for her tremendous <br />support of the program. She introduced the five contest winners, and also acknowledged <br />two teachers in the audience: Shelley Halpern from Sycamore Canyon Elementary and <br />Melissa Sublette from Westlake Hills Elementary. 946 students participated in the Trails <br />Education Days and 72% of the participants entered the contest. Board members <br />congratulated and thanked the winners and Friedl presented each winner with a gift of <br />appreciation. <br />Calleguas Municipal Water District -- Water Shortage Emergency and Water <br />Conservation Measures <br />Dan Drugan, Manager of Resources, Calleguas Municipal Water District, gave a <br />presentation that included an update on the current water shortage emergency and what <br />measures are being undertaken to conserve. There are insufficient supplies to meet <br />normal demand; this is the worst drought since 1972. He described our imported water <br />system and the effects of climate change and the impacts in various areas. He reviewed <br />the rigorous mandatory conservation efforts necessary.
