May 5, 2022 <br />Page 2 <br />Newbury Park Library. 2188 free income tax returns were completed this season. The first <br />Volunteer Appreciation Day since 2019 was held recently and over 300 volunteers were <br />honored. Excitement is building over the return of "Charity Karaoke," scheduled for August Th, <br />which will raise money for non -profits; 20 agencies are participating this year. <br />Daub gave an update on the Teen Center, which reopened its doors on June 15, 2021. She <br />reviewed a number of classes and events offered, including concerts with local bands, sports <br />leagues, winter outings, dances for Th and 8th graders and Dr. Steve's homeschool science <br />class, which is taught 5 days a week and has been offered for over ten years. Classes include <br />mountain biking, art, and bike maintenance. Building renovations are underway, so the Center <br />is currently closed. Programming is being held at a variety of other locations, including the <br />Janss Marketplace and Sycamore Canyon School. The Center is scheduled to reopen in late <br />summer. <br />Board member's questions were answered, and all the presenters were thanked for their <br />informative reports. <br />It was moved • • seconded • Huffer, and -• 5-0 to ••i• the agenda as <br />presented. <br />A.
