Lange, Director Chuck Huffer, Director Doug Nickles, Director DATE: June 2, 2022 GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS Tex Wa rd TO: Board of Directors FROM: Jim Friedl, General Mana 6r ' SUBJECT: Refundable Deposit Sched Facility Rental, Field Use, and Filming Fees RECOMMENDATION Adopt Resolution 060222-D setting the Refundable Deposit Schedule and Facility Rental, Field Use, and Filming Fees for the Conejo Recreation & Park District effective July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023. 2 Establish an ad hoc board committee to further discuss fees and charges for Facility Rental, Field Use and Filming Fees. BACKGROUND Staff annually review the refundable deposit schedule and facility rental, field use, and filming fees and make recommendations for potential changes to the Board of Directors. The last increase to refundable deposits was made in the 2017-2018 fiscal year. In the 2019-2020 fiscal year, facility rental fees were increased by 5% and field use fees were increased by 15%, aligning the district more closely with regional market prices for the in -district rate. For the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 fiscal years, there were no fee increases due to the COVID- 19 pandemic. Since 2012, costs to maintain our fields have increased by 38% and the cost to rent a field has gone up 19%. As of the 2020-2021 fiscal year, the District spent $3.8 million to maintain all of our parks with fields, and CRPD recovered 8% of the maintenance cost ($311,533) with revenue from reservations that year. DISCUSSION It is recommended that refundable deposits and filming fees remain the same for the upcoming 2022-2023 budget cycle.
