Lange, Director <br />Chuck Huffer, Director <br />Doug Nickles, Director <br />DATE: <br />April 7, 2022 <br />GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS <br />TO: <br />Board of Directors <br />Tex Ward <br />FROM: <br />Jim Friedl, General Manager <br />SUBJECT: <br />Resolution No. 040722-A Authorizing the Submittal of the Older Americans Act <br />Grant Application to Ventura County Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA) for the Project <br />Year July 1, 2022 — June 30, 2023 <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve Resolution No. 040722-A authorizing submittal of the Older Americans Act Grant Application. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The District assumed responsibility for administration of the Senior Nutrition Program from the City of <br />Thousand Oaks in July 2010. The congregate lunch program is conducted from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, <br />Monday through Friday at the Goebel Adult Community Center. The dining room seats 56 people at one <br />time; an average of 50 patrons are served daily. This service provides seniors with a nutritious meal and <br />a Place to socialize with their peers. <br />During COVID-19, the congregate meal program transitioned to a drive-thru/walk-up lunch program which <br />took place Monday -Friday from 11:30am-1:30pm. An average of 100 patrons were served daily.
