CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />• OF DIRECTORS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />January 20, 2022 <br />6:00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />M I N U T E S <br />Cusworth called the meeting to order at 6:02pm and Huffer led the flag salute. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Cusworth, Holt, Huffer, Lange, Nickles <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Hare and Smith, Recreation Services <br />Manager Duerr and Executive Assistant Reynders, <br />Goebel Senior Center Commission (GSCC) <br />Steve Smith, President, Goebel Senior Center Commission, introduced the Vice President of the <br />Commission, Sandy Barry, who accompanied him to tonight's meeting. He explained how the <br />Commission was formulated, how Commissioners are chosen, and outlined the organization's <br />structure, including their liaison with CRPD staff, Patty Hamm and Mike McAdam. His presentation <br />included a review of the programs the Commission sponsors and gave an overview of their budget <br />and wish list. Bingo is by far the largest fundraiser; it brings in about $200,000 per year. He shared <br />examples of the many activities held at the Goebel Adult Community Center and emphasized their <br />importance to the community's senior population. <br />Smith answered Board member's questions and was thanked for his informative presentation. <br />ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Mark Jones, Newbury Park, representing Estancia/Virazon HOA, expressed his objections to 50 -foot <br />light poles at Ranch Potrero Equestrian Center. <br />David Hettwer, Newbury Park, expressed objections to 50 -foot light poles at Rancho Potrero <br />Equestrian Center. <br />011111111 W4 U a � Wl �* � �- --W.A <br />'t was moved by Holt, seconded by Huffer, and carried 5-0 to approve the agenda as <br />presented. <br />A.
