The demand for smaller class sizes simply exceeds the available space in the pool, time in the day, and instructors. The Borchard Community Center (BOC) had small waitlist for a number of classes, including Kindermusik, Basketball, and Teacher & Me. The Dos Vientos Community Center (DVC) saw its largest waitlists for Horseback Riding classes. Thousand Oaks Community Center (TOC) hosted the Haunted Trail event this session which sold out rather quickly, accounting for the majority of the unit’s waitlisted patrons. The Sports Department experienced its typical waitlists for tennis, golf, and pickleball classes; each of these are taught by independent contractors who have limitations to the number of classes and participants they are able to offer and accept. Conejo Community Center (CCC) and Therapeutic Recreation (TR) each offered a number of virtual classes this session which did not see any enrollment, indicating that participants seem to be eager to return to in-person activities. The overall number of classes offered by the Borchard Community Center (BOC) decreased substantially this year compared to last year because they had offered nearly 50 virtual classes in 2020.
