Award purchase in the amount of $264,840.84 to Quinn Power Systems for two (2) Caterpillar
XQ230 trailer -mounted generators through Sourcewell's (NJPA) Public Procurement Contract
(Contract #120617 -CAT).
DISCUSSION
On November 22, 2021, the Santa Monica Mountains Conservnacy approved the District's
application for a grant for two (2) trailer -mounted generators.
The proposed purchase of two (2) 200Kw trailer -mounted diesel standby generators would
provide power to facilities, including community centers used as evacuation shelters during a
disaster and during electrical system outages. Mobile generators can be moved to any location
as needed. Each generator will be capable of providing power to a facility in the event of an
electrical systems outage and has the capability to be run in parallel should the need for more
power (40OKw) occur.
Staff researched several generators and determined that the CaterpillarXQ230 is the best product
for the District's needs due to its performance, local service support, price, and availability.
Generators will be purchased on Sourcewell's (NJPA) public procurement contract #120617 -CAT
awarded to Caterpillar and fulfilled by Quinn Power Systems. Sourcewell, of which the District is
a member, procures cooperative purchasing agreements for a wide array of products and services
for government, education, and non-profit organizations.
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES
403 West Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360-4223
805-495-6471 1 Fax: 805-497-3199 1 parks@crpd.org I www.crpd.org
