Holt, Director <br />Chuck Huffer, Director <br />GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS <br />Tex Ward <br />TO: Board of Directors <br />FROM: Jim Friedl, General Manager <br />SUBJECT: Annual Update to Conejo Rec _ea on and Park District's Water Conservation Plan <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Review and approve annual update report on the District's Water Conservation Plan. <br />DISCUSSION <br />During recent years, the District has made significant strides in its water conservation efforts: <br />• 100% of approximately 10,000 irrigation heads are controlled by iCentral Irrigation Control System, <br />• Added Irrigation Technician to field staff, <br />• Added master flow valves at parks, <br />• Completed numerous waterwise Capital Projects totaling more than $4,950,000, including, but not <br />limited to: <br />O Conversion of 70 acres of non-essential turf to native/drought-tolerant species and non -turf <br />ground cover, <br />o Irrigation conversions to reclaimed systems at North Ranch Neighborhood and Triunfo <br />Community Park, <br />o Irrigation upgrades at Thousand Oaks Community Park, <br />O Development and waterwise improvements at Banyan Neighborhood Park, <br />O Irrigation upgrades at main/maid's house at McCrea Ranch, <br />o Development of 124 -acre Sapwi Trails Community Park with no irrigated turf. <br />• Since Fiscal Year 2017-2018, with the intent to continue annually, committed $300,000 (with the <br />exception of 2020-2021, which was $235,000) to drought response projects. <br />ADMINISTRATIVE: OFFICES <br />403 West Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360-4223 <br />805-495-6471 1 Fax: 805-497-3199 1 parks@crpd.org I www.crpd.org <br />
