Holt, Director <br />Chuck Huffer, Director <br />GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS <br />Tex Ward <br />SUBJECT: County of Ventura Human Services Agency Evacuation Shelter and Temporary <br />Evacuation Point Agreement <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve the Evacuation Shelter and Temporary Evacuation Point Agreement with the County of Ventura <br />Human Services Agency. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On April 2, 2020, the CRPD Board of Directors approved the Emergency Care and Shelter Services <br />Memorandum of Understanding Among the City of Thousand Oaks, the Conejo Recreation and Park <br />District, and the American Red Cross of Ventura County. On June 25, 2020, CRPD entered into a Shelter <br />Agreement with the American Red Cross. <br />The County of Ventura Human Services Agency has recently requested that CRPD enter into an <br />Evacuation Shelter and Temporary Evacuation Point Agreement. The County of Ventura, through its <br />Human Services Agency, oversees mass care and sheltering activities in the event of an emergency <br />incident that has exhausted the resources of city and non-profit agencies. This agreement would grant the <br />County of Ventura use of CRPD facilities as emergency shelters and/or temporary evacuation points during <br />a disaster. Moreover, the agreement would provide CRPD more access to support resources in an <br />emergency situation. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN COMPLIANCE <br />Meets 2019-2023 Strategic Plan Goal 4.0: Our objective is to collaborate with other entities in order to <br />fulfill the District's mission.
