Commission terms are normally
three years and five terms come up for election each year.
Due to COVID-19, the 2020 and 2021 elections did not take place and all Commissioner terms have been
extended. Due to a vacancy, the Application Review Ad Hoc Committee held a special election in July.
Candidates were taken from the eligibility list of applicants that was established prior to COVI D-19. The
eligibility list consisted of three applicants. One applicant was appointed and approved at the August 25
CRPD Board meeting. Another applicant, Sona Anderson was selected and approved by the Commission
at the July 28 meeting, as an alternate in case another position became vacant.
In August 2021, Commissioner Joanie Reuben resigned, leaving another vacancy. As a result of the
resignation and previous special election results, Sona Anderson has been selected to fill the vacancy and
serve on the Commission. The new Commissioner will carry out the remaining term of the vacancy, ending
June 30, 2024, effective immediately upon appointment approval.
The application of the candidate nominated for Board appointment is attached.
STRATEGIC COMPLIANCE
Meets 2019-2023 Strategic Plan Element 1.6.1 e Where appropriate, seek individual, organizational, and
institutional contributions that enhance District programs and facilities.
Respectfully submi ed, Pre are ,
Rochelle Callis, Administrator Tim Duerr, Service Manager
Recreation and Community Services Recreation and Community Services
Attachment
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES
403 West Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360-4223
805-495-6471 1 Fax: 805-497-3199 1 parks@crpd.org I www.crpd.org
