It can be
played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton -sized court and a slightly modified tennis net. Pickleball
can be played as teams of doubles or singles with participants of all ages and skill levels.
Due to community interest, as part of the 2013 development of Del Prado Playfield, two (2) dedicated
courts were included in the project. Since the opening of the facility, further community anterest grew and
additional courts were installed at Estella Park (2 courts shared with amulti-use court), Rancho Conejo
Playfweld (6 dedicated courts), and courts will be installed at the Teen Center (2 shared with amulti-use
court — as part of the proposed renovation project). In addition to dedicated pickleball courts at Rancho
Conejo and Del Prado Playfields, staff has converted the tennis courts to multi -use courts with permanent
pickleball striping (6 courts). Staff have also provided various temporary striped pickleball courts at tennis
courts and gymnasiums throughout District facilities.
The Regional Pickleball Site Assessment (Exhibit 1) illustrates the various pickleball locations throughout
the District and the county as a whole; shown are both public and private facilities. There are at least 106
total pickleball courts, broken down as follows:
• Within District Boundaries
0 16 public courts
0 9 private courts
• Within 5 miles of District boundaries
0 26 public courts
0 4 private courts
• Within 5-10 miles of District boundaries
o 24 public courts
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES
403 West Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360-4223
805-495-6471 1 Fax: 805-497-3199 1 parks@crpd.org I www.crpd.org
