August 2, 2001 <br />Page 6 <br />Concluding, he said that the Kimber Park dedication date is still not <br />confirmed. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Benton reported that the two remaining Concerts in the Park will be held on <br />Sunday, August 12, featuring Bill and Bonnie Hearne, and on Labor Day, <br />September 3, featuring Colin Hay; the basketball and football Corporate <br />Games finals is scheduled for August 3; 300 high school students attended <br />the Teen Center concert on July 20, which featured four bands; 100 <br />participants attended the July 16 20 Explore Italy Camp at the Art§ Council <br />Cultural Center; the fall brochure will be mailed August 3 and registration will <br />begin August 7; and the last Teen Center summer dance for 7'�' and 8t' <br />graders is scheduled for August 11. <br />She presented an overview of staffs recent meeting with representatives of <br />ETI (Equestrian Trails Incorporated) and Thousand Oaks High School Cross <br />Country Team. She said that ETI is opposed to the use of the Waverly site <br />by the Cross Country Team; alternative sites were suggested, including <br />Conejo Creek North, Conejo Creek South, and Lang Ranch Community Park; <br />the Cross Country Coach said that Conejo Creek North would be <br />investigated as a possible site; staff recommendation is to allow the Cross <br />Country Team to use the Waverly site once or twice a year for meets, and to <br />use alternative sites at all other times; and one meet has already been <br />scheduled and permitted for October 4. <br />In response to Gibson's suggestion, Benton said that ETI is always notified in <br />advance of meets, and appropriate signage will also be posted. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Sorensen said that the District is -aware of <br />ETI scheduling. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />Jorgensen stated that, because expenses relative to 401 Hillcrest are <br />estimates with no historic precedent to draw upon, those aspects of the <br />budget may have to be adjusted. <br />D. Genera! Manager's Report <br />In response to Holt's inquiry, Ward reviewed relevant ERAF (Educational <br />Revenue Augmentation Fund) legislative issues. <br />
