CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND <br />The Capital Improvement Fund accounts for financial resources used for the acquisition <br />or construction of major capital facilities. This is defined by District Finance staff as <br />any project over $5,000. The budget amount for 2001-2002 for this fund is $7,734,106. <br />The attached Capital Improvement Fund projects are the same as those presented to <br />the Board in June 2001, with the exception of the following: <br />1. Move to 401 Hillcrest $300,000 <br />2. North Ranch Neighborhood Flark play equipment $45,000 <br />3. Lynn Oaks Park irrigation and staircase upgrade $58,000 <br />4. Thousand Oaks Center air conditioning $10,000 <br />5. Conejo Community Center air conditioning $11,500 <br />6. Community garden $5,000 <br />NOTE DEBT SERVICE FUND <br />This fund reflects the use of resources used to meet debt service requirements on <br />general long-term debt. The District has several more payments to be made to the City <br />of Thousand Oaks for the note associated with the construction of Conejo Creek North. <br />The budget amount for 2001-2002 for this fund is $100,000. <br />DISTRICTWIDE ASSESSMENT DISTRICT FUND <br />This fund has been set up in accordance with the Assessment District procedure <br />enacted by the Board after the balloting by the citizens of the District. The revenue <br />from the assessment can be used for both operational and capital project purposes. <br />The budget amount for 2001-2002 for this fund is $1,083,366. <br />The budget includes the addition of three new positions (Grounds Worker I, Grounds <br />Worker II, Park Ranger), as well as costs associated with utilities and park <br />maintenance expenses. <br />GRANTS <br />Grants, as a source of revenue, are received in both the General Fund and the Capital <br />Project Fund. <br />
