L <br />A <br />F <br />SYNOPSIS OF MINUTES <br />LOCAL INVESTMENT ADVISORY BOARD <br />Meeting of June 6, 2001 <br />The main topic of discussion was <br />finalizing the program for the 2001 LAIF <br />Annual Conference. The formal program will <br />be held on Thursday, September 27, 2001, <br />in Sacramento at the Sacramento <br />Convention Center. A tour of the State <br />Treasurer's Office and an opportunity to <br />observe the investment trading process live <br />will take place Friday morning, September <br />28, 2001. <br />Conference sessions will include an eco- <br />nomic outlook and overview of the LAIF <br />AUDIT CONFIRMATIONS <br />Fiscal year end is drawing to a close and <br />many local agencies will be sending audit <br />confirmations to LAIR <br />The audit confirmations are processed <br />in the order received and in an effort to <br />expedite your request, please remember to <br />include on your request the agency name, <br />the LAIF account number, and the <br />accounting period close of business date. <br />Also, a self addressed, stamped <br />envelope should be enclosed with your <br />request. <br />and the PMIA, a panel on credit issues, <br />and legislation effecting local governments'. <br />public finance and investments. State <br />Treasurer Philip angelides will be the key- <br />note luncheon speaker. <br />LAIF Administrator Eileen Park and As- <br />sistant Director of Investments Dan Dowell <br />provided reports on the LAIF operations <br />and the PMIA performance. <br />The next LAIB meeting is tentatively <br />scheduled for Wednesday, September 26, <br />2001. <br />ANNUAL <br />INFORMATION <br />UPDA <br />Annual Information Updates will be <br />mailed to LAIF participants in January <br />2002. <br />The Annual Information Updates assist <br />the LAIF staff in maintaining the most <br />current account information for the LAIF <br />participants. <br />Each agency should have two currently <br />authorized persons to review, sign, and <br />return this form as soon as possible. <br />
