Holt, Director <br />Chuck Huffer, Director <br />GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS <br />Tex Ward <br />SUBJECT: Resolution No. 041521-D Authorizing the Submittal of the Older Americans Act <br />Grant Application to Ventura County Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA) for the Project <br />Year July 1, 2021 — June 30, 2022 <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve Resolution No. 041521-D authorizing submittal of the Older Americans Act Grant Application <br />BACKGROUND <br />The District assumed responsibility for administration of the Senior Nutrition Program from the City of <br />Thousand Oaks in July 2010. The congregate lunch program is conducted from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, <br />Monday through Friday at the Goebel Adult Community Center. The dining room seats 56 people at one <br />time; an average of 60 patrons are served daily. This service provides seniors with a nutritious meal and <br />a Place to socialize with their peers. <br />During COVID-19, the congregate meal program transitioned to a drive-thru/walk-up lunch program <br />which takes place Monday -Friday from 11:30am-1:30pm. An average of 100 patrons are served daily. <br />The grant the District receives from the VCAAA assists with the operating costs related to the program. <br />If approved by the VCAAA, this year's award will be $101,101. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN COMPLIANCE <br />Meets 2019-2023 Strategic Plan 3.2.4 — Continue to seek partnerships, collaborations and sponsorships <br />(cash or in-kind) to offset capital facility and recreation programming costs, and 4.2 — Develop, maintain <br />and enhance relationships with other government agencies serving our community such as the County of <br />Ventura, national and state parks, Calleguas Municipal Water District, Santa Monica Mountains <br />Conservancy, and the City of Westlake Village. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />l <br />Tim Duerr, Recreation Services Manager <br />ADMINISTRA T IVE OFFICES <br />403 West Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360-4223 <br />805-495-6471 1 Fax: 805-497-3199 1 parks@crpd.org I www.crpd.org <br />
