BACKGROUND Internet security is no joke. BOARD OF DIRECTORS Doug Nickles, Chair Nellie Cusworth, Vice Chair George M. Lange Susan L. Holt, Director Chuck Huffer, Director GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS Tex Ward All Internet users — whether governments, businesses and individuals are under a constant barrage of Internet hacking and attempted security breaches. There are a variety of practices, products and services to add security to the modern, lightning -fast Internet — but they do come with a substantial cost. IT staff along with the IT committee have devised a solution to frustrate would-be hackers, minimize security breaches and save a significant amount of money (though not necessarily time). IT staff recommends CRPD switch its Internet Service Provider to a tried and true, as well as inexpensive Internet technology that modern hackers and ne'er-do-wells simply won't touch. Unless there is some objection from the CRPD Board, IT staff will begin to channel all of CRPD's Internet activity through AOL's "dial-up" service.
