Holt, Director <br />Chuck Huffer, Director <br />GENERAL MANAGER EMEROTUS <br />Tex Ward <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Authorize General Manager to enter into Amendment #5 to the Contract for Custodial Services with <br />Excellent Building Maintenance. <br />DISCUSSION <br />In May 2016, after a competitive Request for Proposal process, the Board awarded a five-year <br />contract with two optional one-year extensions to Xanadu Service System, Inc. <br />Due to issues regarding Xanadu's inability to fulfill the services specified in the contract, on <br />November 15, 2016, the District terminated for cause Xanadu's contract effective November 16, <br />2016, and then entered into a contract with Excellent Building Maintenance (EBM) for services for <br />a two-month period. <br />In January 2017, the Board awarded a contract to EBM for the balance of time (and same terms <br />and conditions) of the original contract with Xanadu (approximately 4.5 years and two optional <br />one-year extensions). <br />Amendment #5 (attached) extends the current contract to June 30, 2022; furthermore, additional <br />custodial services (outdoor trash receptacles) will be provided by EBM at the Teen Center and <br />Goebel Adult Community Center, resulting in a contract price increase of $897.78 per month. The <br />additional costs are subject to reimbursement through the District's agreement with the City of <br />Thousand Oaks. All other terms and conditions of the January 2017 contract apply.
