This year’s Unplugged event was more critical
than ever with people having to plug-in for work, school and play. Several events were offered throughout the day
including naturalist-guided hikes to Paradise Falls in Wildwood Park, a skateboarding meet-and-greet with
Weston Bacon Cheeseburger and Seabass (our CRPD skate instructors), and a Scavenger Hunt throughout Sapwi Park.
This event was put together by a coordinated effort of innovative staff from multiple Units across the District.
The Goebel Adult Community Center hosted two classes as part of CRPD’s Unplugged event. Participants enjoyed Tai
Chi in a beautiful park setting at the Lakeside Pavilion Picnic Area. Others took part in the Succulent Potting and Design program. It was an opportunity to learn and be creative while getting their
hands dirty! They painted pots and planted a variety of succulents at the Willow Bend Picnic Area.
