9  <br />  <br />CHAPTER 2 <br /> <br />MANUAL ESTABLISHED <br /> <br />Section 2.0 Purpose <br /> <br />The District Personnel Policy and Procedures Manual (“Manual”) is hereby established for the <br />purpose of setting forth and defining policies, procedures, rules and regulations, obligations, <br />rights, privileges, benefits, and prohibitions which pertain to all employees of the Conejo <br />Recreation and Park District and to ensure equal and uniform procedures for dealing with <br />personnel matters. <br /> <br />Section 2.1 Distribution <br /> <br />At the time of hiring, all employees shall be given a current copy of the District Personnel Policy <br />and Procedures Manual (“Manual”)Manual. As a condition of employment, the District requires <br />that each employee reads and, if necessary, request clarification regarding this Manual. Each <br />employee must sign a statement of receipt acknowledging that: a) he or she has received a <br />copy, or has been provided access to the Manual; and b) understands that he or she is <br />responsible for reading and becoming familiar with the contents of the Manual and any <br />subsequent revisions. <br /> <br />Section 2.2 Revisions <br /> <br />Circumstances will undoubtedly require that amendments and revisions will be made to the <br />Manual from time to time. Accordingly, the District reserves the right to modify, supplement, <br />rescind or revise any provision of this Manual as it deems necessary and appropriate, in its sole <br />and absolute discretion; , subject only to the District’s obligation, if any, to meet and confer as <br />defined set forth in Chapter 28. Information to be added, deleted or otherwise amended in the <br />Manual shall be accomplished through the issuance of supplemental bulletins and shall be <br />incorporated within the body of the manualManual. <br /> <br />Section 2.3 Legality <br /> <br />If any chapter, section, sub-section, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this Manual is <br />held to be invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such will not affect <br />the validity of the remaining portions of this Manual. <br /> <br />Section 2.4 Compliance <br /> <br />Each employee shall be responsible for compliance with the personnel policies and procedures <br />set forth in this Manual. <br /> <br />Section 2.5 Violation <br /> <br />Pursuant to Chapter 21 of this Manual, violation of any portion of the Manual or any other policy <br />or rules implemented by the District may be grounds for disciplinary action up to and including <br />discharge. <br /> <br />Section 2.6 Administration <br />
