District staff has dedicated a tremendous amount of time to mitigating or responding to the <br />COVID public health emergency. Beginning in March, staff tracked this time hourly with codes <br />dedicated to specific functions such as emergency operations center, training, disinfection, technical <br />assistance, purchase and distribution of supplies, security as well as general administration required <br />for implementation of the various guidelines. <br />Total Estimated Labor Expenses March to December 2020: $861,000. <br />Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Other Materials. The District has provided staff with <br />various personal protective equipment (PPE); material for control and reduction of immediate threat <br />for patron and employee health for programming as per CDC guidance. In addition, the District has <br />purchased and produced materials recommended by COVID-19 recommendations such as signage <br />to disseminate information to the public to provide warnings and guidance, materials needed for <br />disinfection or emergency operations such as barricades, additional sanitary facilities and regular <br />service. <br />Total Estimated Expenses for PPE and Other Materials March to December 2020: $142,000 <br />Community Assistance. The District incurred expenditures to other entities to reimburse the costs of <br />operations interruption caused by the required closures. Such expenses include a lease obligation <br />for the Reign of Terror event and a loan to the Chumash museum. <br />Total Estimated Community Assistance Expenses March to December 2020: $81,000 <br />Emergency Paid Leave.
