Holt, Director <br />Chuck Huffer, Director <br />Nellie Cusworth, Director <br />GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS <br />Tex Ward <br />TO: Board of Directors <br />FROM: Jim Friedl, General Mana e - <br />SUBJECT: Termination of Porter -'Bill Lease Between the California Department of <br />Transportation (Caltrans) and the Conejo Recreation and Park District <br />(CRPD) for approximately 6 acres of land West of 23 Fwy between Paige <br />Lane and Janss Road. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt Resolution 072820-A finding that the land west of the 23 freeway between Paige Lane and <br />Janss Road subject to the Caltrans Porter Bill Lease dated August 2, 1976 is no longer necessary <br />for Park Purposes and authorize General Manager to send formal notice of termination to <br />Caltrans. <br />BACKGROUND <br />CRPD / Caltrans Enter into Porter Bill Lease <br />The subject property is an approximately 6 -acre linear piece of property running along the Lang <br />Creek on the West side of the 23 Freeway between Janss Road and Paige Lane. This property <br />is located across the freeway from Conejo Creek South Park (soccer and basebal9 fields). Maps <br />depicting the property are attached hereto as Exhibit 1. <br />In 1976 the Conejo Recreation and Park District (CRPD) and the California Department of <br />Transportation (Caltrans) entered into a 50 -Year Lease Agreement terminating August 1, 2026 <br />[Exhibit 2]. <br />This type of lease agreement is a standard form Caltrans agreement known as a "Porter Bill <br />Lease".
