CONEJO RECREATION & PARK DISTRICT RECREATION & COMMUNITY SERVICES DIVISION <br /> YOUTH OUTREACH PROGRAM <br />WINTER SUMMARY REPORT PAGE 8 OF 9 REVISED 04.2020 <br />COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT <br /> <br />Fiore Gardens/Los Robles Apartments Program with Area Housing Authority of Ventura County <br />Weekly programs for teens living at the Fiore Gardens Apartment Complex (8 participants weekly) led <br />by Pete Martinez on Thursdays from 4:30 – 6:00 PM. Activities include: <br />• Group Discussions <br />• Schoolwork Assistance <br />• Group Games <br />• Arts and Crafts <br />• Snacks and Drinks <br />• Excursions <br />The Mission of Area Housing Authority is to provide opportunities and assistance to people in need of <br />affordable housing. <br /> <br /> <br />Pete Martinez with teens from Fiore Gardens and Los Arboles Apartments at DojoBoom <br />Conejo Creek Teen Program <br />Weekly programs for teens living at Conejo Creek Apartment Complex (25-30 participants weekly) led <br />by Dan Nalbandian each Tuesday from 5:15–7:30pm . Activities include: <br />• Group Discussions <br />• Schoolwork Assistance <br />• Group Games <br />• Arts and Crafts <br />• Snacks and Drinks <br />• Excursions <br /> <br />OUTREACH WORKER REFLECTIONS <br />I have been working to meet the needs of CVUSD students that lack basic resources such as <br />nutrition, housing, hygienic supplies, school supplies, transportation and clothing. I was able help <br />these students due to the assistance and response from Harbor House, Food Harvest, Area Housing <br />Authority, Student Support Services for the CVUSD, and the Conejo School Foundation. A special <br />“thank you” to all involved for making a difference in the lives of our “precious youth”. <br />Pete Martinez, February 2020
