WHEREAS, in June 2003, the District approved increasing the main library footprint by <br />approximately 1.5 acres (the "Expansion Area") to accommodate a 20,000 square foot <br />Children's Services section, which was constructed by the City and opened in June <br />2006; and <br />WHEREAS, the Expansion Area was leased by the District to the City by the 1988 <br />Lease; and <br />WHEREAS, the Library Lease was amended in 2010 to add the Expansion Area to the <br />leased property; and <br />WHEREAS, 1988 Lease was not amended to remove the Expansion Area from the <br />leased property; and <br />WHEREAS, the parties entered into a new agreement in 2019 (the "2019 Lease") in <br />furtherance to the cooperative relationship between the parties; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2019 Lease replaced the 1988 Lease; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2019 Lease unintentionally included the Expansion Area leased to City <br />by the 2010 amendment to Library Lease. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PARTIES HERETO DO MUTUALLY AGREE THAT LEASE <br />AGREEMENT NO. 12161-2019 BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS: <br />Part 1: Section 1 of Land Lease "PROPERTY LEASED" is hereby amended to read <br />in its entirety as follows: <br />District hereby leases to City and City hereby rents for the sum of one dollar ($1.00) per <br />year from District the property, hereinafter called "Premises", located in the County of <br />Ventura, State of California, described as follows: <br />That portion of Parcel "C" LD 428 in the City of Thousand Oaks, County of Ventura, State <br />of California, as per map recorded in Book 31, Page 99 of the parcel map in the office of <br />the County Recorder of said County as described in Exhibits A. 1 and B.1 attached. <br />F IN: 201 -1 O\ja\https:Hcrpd org. sha repoi nt. com/sites/parks_staff/S h a red Documents/BOARD REPORTS/2020/2020 <br />0305 Board Report LAND LEASE FOR GACC AND TEEN - amendment.doex <br />Page 2 <br />
