In 1978, the District and the City entered irn.o Lease
Agreement No. 594 (Library Lease) for the lease of approximately five acres of District land to the
City for the construction and operation of a public library.
In 1988, the District and the City entered into a Lease Agreement (the "1980' Lease") for a portion
of District property next to the library for the construction of a senior adult -Facility and teen center.
To renew and update the lease terms to better support the relationship, the District and City
entered into a new land lease in 2019 (2019 Lease). The 1988 Lease was terminated upon
commencement of the 2019 Lease.
In 2003, the District approved the City's request 'to increase the main library footprint by
approximately one and half acres to accommodate a children's services section ([expansion Area).
When the children's expansion was constructed, land originally leased to the City for the senior
adult facility and teen center through the 1988 Lease was used for the new wing. In 2010, as part
of a City bond refunding, the Library Lease was amended to include the Expansion Area to the
leased property.
ADMINISTRATWE OFFICES
403 West Hillcrest Drive I Thousand Oaks, CA 91360-4223
(805) 495-6471 1 FAX: (805) 497-3199 1 Email: parks@crpd.org I Website: www.crpd.org
