(FS) in the not -to -exceed
amount of $200,000 annually for drought response irrigation improvements and turf conversion
services at various park facilities.
In July 2016, the District executed Amendment #1 to the contract with FS increasing the not -to -
exceed amount for Fiscal Year 2016-2017 to $600,000 in order to timely complete and receive
rebate funds from the Metropolitan Water District.
In February 2019, the District executed Amendment #2 to the contract with FS increasing the not -
to -exceed amount for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 to $250,000 in order to complete drought response
irrigation improvements and turf conversion services at parks throughout the District.
In order to continue to move forward with projects for the current year, staff recommends the
current Fiscal Year not -to -exceed amount be increased to $300,000 for FS. As a result of the
previous year's water savings, the budget for drought response projects this year increased from
$200,000 to $338,000 thus allowing for additional parks sites to be included. These irrigation
renovations, and drought -tolerant planting, are to be completed within the next several months.
Consequently, the drought response work will be completed prior to higher demand months
(Spring/Summer), providing more efficient and usable irrigation systems for staff to maintain and
operate.
Funds are available in the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Parks and Planning Division budget.
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES
403 West Hillcrest Drive I Thousand Oaks, CA 91360-4223
(805) 495-6471 1 FAX: (805) 497-3199 1 Email: parks@crpd.org I Website: www.crpd.org
