Once the meetings have been held, staff will <br />brainstorm and reach out to the community with a variety of concepts based on the <br />input received. The grant agreement between the District and the City of Thousand <br />Oaks for the Teen Center expansion and Goebel renovation will be going before the <br />Thousand Oaks City Council on October 22nd. Hare will be presenting it to the CRPD <br />Board of Directors on October 17th. The Healing Garden project is proceeding on <br />schedule. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Callis referenced Recreation Highlights; she reminded the Board members of the <br />upcoming Teen Center Anniversary scheduled for October 29th from 5-7 pm; <br />Invitations should be emailed tomorrow. Lori Olbrich, Conejo Community Center <br />Recreation Supervisor is retiring at the end of the year; recruitment for that position <br />will begin shortly. The "Reign of Terror" event has begun and is going well. "Haunted <br />Trails" will be at the end of the month. Callis recently enjoyed spending some time <br />working at the Teen Center. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Lewanda reported her retirement is scheduled for the end of March 2020. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl reported Lewanda and Reynders will miss the next Board meeting. At the <br />request of the County Supervisor, Friedl will meet with Dan Paranick, General <br />Manager of the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District (RSRPD), to discuss the <br />Oak Park portion of RSRPD. The Conejo Valley Unified School District has <br />requested to meet with Friedl and Hare to revisit the idea of a possible road from the <br />backside of Waverly Park (i.e., the Conejo Valley Adult School) through/near the Las <br />Flores Community Garden and out to Avenida Las Flores. The Thousand Oaks <br />Library Foundation, holder of the Ed Lawrence photograph collection, which was <br />purchased jointly by the District ($15K), the City and Cal Lutheran University, would <br />like to meet with representatives of these three entities in an effort to gain clarity on <br />what the ownership means. <br />E. Directors' Reports & Follow -Up Reports on Meetings/Conferences Attended <br />Holt and Lange attended the Conejo Coalition for Youth and Families "Meet and <br />Greet" this morning. Holt reminded Board members of their invitation to the <br />upcoming Triunfo Ball. Cusworth and Lange attended the California Special Districts <br />Association Annual Conference. Cusworth urged all who attend the "Cowboy <br />Cookouts" at McCrea Ranch to bid on the auction items, specifically those offered by <br />
