CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />September 5, 2019 <br />7':00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Huffer called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and Lange led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Cusworth, Holt, Huffer, Lange, Nickles <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis, Hare and Lewanda, <br />and Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship <br />Bryan McQueeney, .;EO and Go -Founder of Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship, <br />presented highlights of the past year and expressed his gratitude for 18 years of <br />successful partnership with CRPD. He reviewed the history of the organization and <br />remarked on the strong community and volunteer efforts needed for its continued <br />success. This year, the City of Thousand Oaks has asked Ride On to step in and manage <br />the 20 -acre Rancho Potrero Community Equestrian Center. McQueeney is excited at the <br />prospect of being selected as the long-term operator, especially given the potential of <br />bringing a non-profit approach to the location, with the many programming and <br />educational opportunities it would afford. This possible transition is in very early stages; <br />the hope is that CRPD will be a close partner in this endeavor, helping to create another <br />amazing asset for the people of the Conejo Valley. McQueeney answered Board <br />Member's questions and was thanked for his informative presentation. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange, and carried " to approve the agenda as <br />presented. <br />
