The report reflects continuing <br />positive trends in the investment portfolio results. <br />The average daily portfolio balance for April was $2.988 Billion. <br />The annualized percentage yield for April was 2.677%, a slight increase from March's 2.655%. <br />Our portfolio exceeded the yields of all three of its benchmarks. The interest rate market in our <br />sectors and within our maturity horizon has settled, as the Federal Open market Committee has <br />apparently decided not to move interest rates for several months. I believe the portfolio's annualized <br />percentage yield will remain steady within a range of 2.50% - 2.70% for several months. <br />Going forward, if the current portfolio investments were all held to maturity, the portfolio's <br />approximate yield to maturity is 2.66%. <br />The total net earnings for April were $6.575 Million. Earnings will stay over $5.5 Million as long as <br />the portfolio balance stays over $2.8 Billion and there are no significant interest rate changes. <br />The weighted average days to maturity rose to 162 days. The interest -rate sensitivity measure <br />of effective duration rose to 0.388. Both of these numbers remain within an acceptable range, <br />reflecting the portfolio's very low sensitivity to interest rate changes.
