The adjustments noted below <br />and on the attachment are recommended: <br />General Fund <br />Fires — Appropriate $1,160,000 in various work centers for estimated costs associated with the <br />fires. $1,102,000 is anticipated to be reimbursed through the District's insurance provider, <br />CAPRI, FEMA, the City of Thousand Oaks and the State. The balance, $58,000 will come from <br />Fund Balance. <br />Risk Management - Appropriate $575,000 for costs in excess of budget associated with settling <br />various Workers' Compensation and Liability Claims, an increase from $550,000 to $1,125,000. <br />$152,000 is expected to be reimbursed from the District's insurance provider, CAPRI; the <br />balance, $423,000 will come from Fund Balance. The District and its Workers' Compensation <br />Third Party Administrator, York, have been aggressively working to close long standing claims, <br />driving up the expenses for this fiscal year. <br />Other — Transfer $25,000 available in the Special Activities work center to the Aquatics work <br />center to provide funding for a Clear Comfort oxysanitizer, which uses an ultraviolet bulb to kill <br />bacteria; this reduces the amount of chlorine necessary to operate the pool, as well as provides <br />for a more rapid re -opening of the pool in the event of contamination. This transfer allows for <br />installation of the equipment in time for the summer swim season. <br />Capital Projects Fund <br />Appropriate $107,000 from Fund Balance to the Newbury Park Pool Refurbishment project, <br />increasing it from $475,000 to $582,000.
