Holt, Director <br />Nellie Cusworth, Director <br />Doug Nickles, Director <br />GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS <br />DATE: April 18, 2019 Tex Ward <br />TO: Board of Directors <br />FROM: Jim Friedl, General Manag <br />SUBJECT: Appointments to the Goebe nlor Center Commission <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve the appointment of Elisabeth Berry and Melinda Rosiejka, and the reappointment of <br />Sandy Barry, Joanie Reuben, and Patricia Schiano to the Goebel Senior Center Commission. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Goebel Senior Center Commission is an elected body with up to 15 members, and annually, <br />in compliance with their bylaws, the Commission holds elections. There were five seats up for <br />election, all were three-year terms. <br />Three members whose terms are due to expire on June 30, 2019; Sandy Barry, Joanie Reuben, <br />and Patricia Schiano applied for reappointment. In addition to the three members who reapplied, <br />applications were received from four additional applicants to equal a total of seven. Applications <br />for those nominated for Board appointment are attached. <br />In advance of the election, interviews were held with applicants by the Applicant Review Ad Hoc <br />Committee made up of commissioners Del Basilio (chair), Cynthia Bengtson, and John Posta. <br />Director Holt observed the interview process. As a result of the interviews, the Applicant Review <br />Ad Hoc Committee made recommendations to the Commission. <br />At the March 27 meeting of the Goebel Senior Center Commission, the annual election was <br />conducted, and five applicants were recommended to serve on the Commission; all for three- <br />year terms effective July 1, 2019.
