TO: City of Thousand Oaks and <br />Conejo Recreation and Park District <br />FROM: Rick Tanaka, Teen Services Director <br />Conejo Recreation and Park District <br />DATE: March 7, 2019 <br />SUBJECT: Alex Fiore Thousand Oaks Teen Center <br />Status Report Fall 2018 (9/1/18-12/3I/18) <br />Attendance at the Teen Center totaled 26,613 units of participation. <br />The daily drop-in average of 100 participants comprised a total of 12,000 units of participation. <br />The Fall season was packed with fun at the Thousand Oaks Teen Center. We had one -thousand <br />four -hundred eighty-one (1,481) teens participating in educational/leadership programs, including <br />such hits as Teen Leadership Club and Chemistry "R" Us. Between the middle school dances and <br />the high school concerts there were nine -hundred ninety-eight (998) teens that came in for special <br />events. Recreational programming did very well with eleven -hundred and six (1,106) teens <br />coming in for such programs as Fencing, Volleyball, and Anime-Style Drawing. The Middle <br />School Sports League experienced tremendous participation, with five -hundred thirty (530) <br />students playing volleyball, basketball, and soccer. There was also extensive community use of <br />the Teen Center through permit use, with ten -thousand four -hundred ninety-eight (10,498) <br />community members utilizing the gym and classrooms during available or non -operational hours. <br />The teen center has provided a wide array of programs and services to a great many community <br />teenagers over the past fall season, and the Teen Center team is looking forward to providing even <br />more fun and creative opportunities over the years to come. <br />Conejo Page 1 of 4 <br />Reoreabo i&Park Di Thousand Oaks <br />
