CONEJO RECREATION & PARK DISTRICT RECREATION & COMMUNITY SERVICES DIVISION <br /> YOUTH OUTREACH PROGRAM <br />FALL 2018 SUMMARY REPORT PAGE 7 OF 10 REVISED 01.2019 <br />NOVEMBER 2018 HIGH SCHOOL IMPRESSIONS (CONT.) <br /> <br />Model Continuation High School Award <br />All three Youth Outreach Workers participated in an interview group that responded to panel <br />questions on November 30, 2018 at Conejo Valley High School. <br /> <br />NOVEMBER SUMMARY: BORDERLINE SHOOTING & BRUSH FIRES <br /> <br />Due to the tragic events that took place in November, the following duties were performed by the <br />Outreach Team: <br /> <br />On the day of the Borderline shootings Youth Outreach Workers supported family and friends <br />of the shootings at the Teen Center and Goebel Adult Community Center. <br /> <br />During the fires Youth Outreach Workers assisted with the operations of the Teen Center while <br />it was used as an evacuation center. <br /> <br />Youth Outreach Workers went out to the community to connect with teens while they were on <br />an extended school break due to these tragic events. Interactions took place at local parks, <br />malls and the housing sites of current Outreach Teen Programs. <br /> <br />Youth Outreach was moved not only by the concern and generosity of the hundreds of people willing <br />and wanting to assist many of the victims of these events but by the many teens that wanted to use <br />their time off school to help those in need. <br /> <br /> <br />
