Authorization to Award Bid for the Construction of <br />Conejo Creek Northwest Quadrant, Dog Park <br />On July 18, 2000, bids were opened for the construction of Conejo Creek Northwest <br />Quadrant, Dog Park. Seven bids were received, ranging from a low bid of $233,000 <br />(from Cascade sprinklers of Moorpark) to a high bid of $575,697. It should be noted <br />there is strong likelihood that the high bidder did not have a clear understanding of the <br />project as the other bidders were more tightly clustered, with the bottom three bids <br />within 15% of each other. <br />Post -bid evaivation and discussion exposed opportunities for increased efficiency with <br />this project by utilizing resources the District already has. By revising the proposed <br />bid according to the contractor's prices, the revised low bid would be $200,201.00. <br />The bid form is attached for your review. <br />Recommendation <br />Authorize the General Manager to award a contract in the amount of $200,201 to <br />Cascade Sprinklers of Moorpark for the construction of the Conejo Creek Northwest <br />Quadrant, Dog Park.
