Janss Road • Thousand Oaks, CA 91362 • (805) 494-5156 <br />www.thousandoaksteencenter.com <br />TO: City of Thousand Oaks and <br />Conejo Recreation and Park District <br />FROM: Rick Tanaka, Teen Services Director VA <br />Conejo Recreation and Park District <br />DATE: September 20, 2018 <br />SUBJECT: Alex Fiore Thousand Oaks Teen Center <br />Status Report Spring 2018 <br />Attendance at the Teen Center totaled 16,530 units of participation. <br />The daily drop-in average of 150 participants comprised a total of 9,150 units of participation. <br />All spring long, rain or shine, the Thousand Oaks Teen Center has stood out as an exciting and <br />entertaining environment for teens that prides itself on a safe track record. Two -hundred ninety <br />(290) teens enjoyed special events like the Black Lite Dance. Eight -hundred six (806) participated <br />in leadership/developmental programs such as science classes and the Teen Leadership Club high <br />school volunteer group. Six -hundred nineteen (619) teens participated in recreational <br />programming like Anime-Style Drawing and Friday Night Billiards. Five -hundred sixty-three <br />(563) teens teamed up with their schoolmates and faced off for Sports League Play. Five -hundred <br />fifteen (515) teens experienced multiple successful cooperative events, such as Teen Tech <br />Convention, a technology driven Teen Center experience for middle schoolers, coordinated by the <br />CVUSD middle school administrators in cooperation with the Teen Center. Spring brings a new <br />harvest of program ideas, some successful spring additions include College Sports Seminar and <br />reformatting of Yoga provided by a new instructor.
