Lange, Director <br />Ed Jones, Director <br />Chuck Huffer, Director <br />GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS <br />Tex Ward <br />TO: Board of Directors <br />FROM: Jim Friedl, General Man <br />SUBJECT: Creation of Ad Hoc Co of the Board of Directors to Evaluate Off -Leash Area Issues <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Create Ad Hoc Committee of the Board of Directors to evaluate Off -Leash Area issues. <br />DISCUSSION <br />In September 2U1 , staff presented Off -Leash Area turf options to the Board (www.crpd.org/OLATurt). <br />The Board directed staff to continue to work with Conejo Off -Leash Area (COLA) representatives and <br />return to a future Board meeting. <br />As a result of several meetings with the COLA representatives, staff recommends creating an Ad Hoc <br />Committee of the Board of Directors to further evaluate Off -Leash Area issues. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN COMPLIANCE <br />Meets 2018 Strategic Plan Element 2.6: Annually evaluate the District's progress toward greater <br />environmental stewardship and sustainable" operations. <br />Meets 2018 Strategic Plan Element 2.9: Continue to incorporate water saving practices into standard <br />operations. Investigate additional water saving opportunities such as, but not limited to, use of reclaimed <br />water, gray water recycling, synthetic turf, waterless urinals, and irrigated landscape conversion. <br />Meets 2018 Strategic Plan Element 2.10: Seek input, ideas and solutions from the public to examine <br />potential for additional location for off -leash dog area and to discuss effective and sustainable <br />improvements to existing off -leash dog park. <br />Meets 2018 Strategic Plan Element 4.6: Local non-profit organizations. Maintain and build relationships <br />with local non-profit organizations engaged in activities consistent with the District's mission.
