Conejo Recreation & Park District
GENERAL MANAGER
Jim Friedl
DATE: July 5, 2018
TO: Board of Directors
FROM: Jim Friedl, General Manag
SUBJECT: 2018 Biennial Review of onflict of Interest Code
RECOMMENDATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Susan L. Holt, Chair
Joe Gibson, Vice Chair
George M. Lange, Director
Ed Jones, Director
Chuck Huffer, Director
GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS
Tex Ward
Approve and adopt the Conflict of Interest Code for the Conejo Recreation and Park District and
authorize the General Manager to forward to the Clerk of the Ventura County Board of
Supervisors.
BACKGROUND
Every two years the District is asked to review and update, if necessary, its Conflict of Interest
Code. The District's current code was last amended in July 2014. In July of 2016, no amendment
was required. However, there is now a need to amend Exhibit A of the Code to eliminate two
Park Development positions and add one Senior Park Planner position to the list of Designated
Positions (Form 700 filers); therefore, the attached Code is submitted to the Board for adoption,
including a red -line strikeout of the changes to Exhibit A.
The District's Conflict of Interest Code incorporates the California State Fair Political Practices
Commission's regulation 18730 by reference thus, as FPPC regulation 18730 is amended, so too,
is the District's Conflict of Interest Code.
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES
403 West Hillcrest Drive • Thousand Oaks, CA 91360-4223
(805) 495-6471 • FAX: (805) 497-3199 • Email: parks@crpd.org • Website: www.crpd.org
