Janss Road • Thousand Oaks, CA 91362 • (805) 494-5156 <br />www.thousandooksteencenter.com <br />TO: City of Thousand Oaks and <br />Conejo Recreation and Park District <br />FROM: Rick Tanaka, Teen Services Director <br />Conejo Recreation and Park District <br />DATE: July 21, 2018 <br />SUBJECT: Alex Fiore Thousand Oaks Teen Center <br />Status Report Winter 2018 (January 1 st — March 31 S) <br />Attendance at the Teen Center totaled 18,830 units of participation. <br />The daily drop-in average of 100 participants comprised a total of 9,000 units ofparticipation. <br />The Thousand Oaks Teen Center has continued to provide a safe, friendly, enriching environment <br />for Conejo Valley teenagers. Five -hundred and twenty (520) teens attended special events. Three - <br />thousand nine -hundred thirteen (3,913) were registered in recreation classes, workshops, camps, <br />excursions, league play, Advisory Committee, and Teen Leadership Volunteer Club. The halfpipe <br />was open for set times and had about fifty-two (52) users. There were multiple successful <br />collaborative events that took place, such as Jamnesty, a Thomas Fire benefit concert, coordinated <br />by the Newbury Park High School Amnesty International Club in cooperation with the Teen <br />Center. New program development is always a priority for keeping up with times, some successful <br />winter additions include French Pour Vous and Laser Team Stealth. Additionally, five -thousand <br />three -hundred forty-five (5,345) seniors, teens, and community members utilized the facility on a <br />permit basis. <br />Teen Leadership Club (TLC) going away party for long time Recreation Leader, Charles Hacker <br />
