Walnut Grove Equestrian Center
Dear Jim:
Ride On has now completed 16 years of service in partnership with the CRPD. In that time we
have given over 43,000 lessons to children and adults with disabilities in the Conejo Valley
alone. From the Walnut Grove Equestrian Center each week we are now serving about 110
riders with disabilities, 25% of them on scholarship. Volunteers drawn from across the
community continue to be the cornerstone of our ability to deliver service -- nearly 100,000
volunteer hours have been dedicated to our mission. Our team now includes nine therapists and
nine instructors. Ride On remains
Ventura County, as well as LA
County.
Last year saw over 7,500
lessons and therapy treatments
given between both ranches.
The demand for our service has
continued to grow even as the
ability of families to afford to pay
has taken a hard hit.
Pro-gramminq Accom lishments
In the Conejo Valley last year,
we gave approximately 3,500
lessons and physical therapy
treatments — Hippotherapy.
8000
7000 p
6000 ;
w 5000 f j
23 4000 I
*° 3000 I i
2000
1000
75% of our riders are children and the two biggest populations served are autism (35% of our
riders) and cerebral palsy (16%).
