Minutes 6-28-17 <br />Page 2 <br />3. PUBLIC DISCUSSION <br />Rick Tanaka, former CSVP Director and current Teen Services Director, <br />addressed the Commission, thanking them for their support of the Tax Services <br />Program conducted through CSVP. He reported the Franchise Tax Board has <br />recognized the Commission with a Certificate of Appreciation for the Commission's <br />support of the Tax Program. He further reported that during the tax season, 42 <br />volunteers had contributed 5,500 hours completing 1,900 tax returns for seniors <br />and low-income households resulting in $1,400,000 returned to the community <br />through the returns. He noted that the CSVP Tax Program continues to assist <br />patrons, providing information and assistance throughout the year. Tanaka <br />thanked the commission again for their continued support. <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF May 24, 2017 <br />Smith asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the May meeting. <br />It was moved by Norkin, seconded by Baumeister, and passed unanimously, <br />to approve the minutes of the May meeting as presented. <br />5. OLD AND NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Officer Elections <br />Hessman distributed the Officer Election ballots and the commissioners cast <br />their votes. Schiano and Coleman left the room to tally the votes. <br />B. Approval of the 2017/2018 Fiscal Year Operating Budget <br />Baumeister distributed the final draft of the 2017/2018 Fiscal Year Operating <br />Budget. <br />It was moved by Blum, seconded by Martinich, to approve the 2017/2018 <br />Fiscal Year Operating Budget. <br />The Commissioners examined the final draft, Baumiester answered questions, <br />and discussion ensued. <br />The vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. <br />Schiano and Coleman returned to the meeting and Schiano announced the <br />
